Welcome to the first and only “Nth Degree Automotive Fabrication” gate system. This is a vertical swing arm gate with a locking system that uses a resident’s existing boat landing key. The boom is 19 feet long and the counter weight approximately 300 Lbs. It is carefully balanced to optimize ease of operation. The materials are rugged and sturdy. However, we always want to control the boom’s motion to ensure a gentle, soft landing, both going up and going down!
When your key is inserted and given a quarter clockwise turn, the lock unlocks, but the key is captured in the lock. If you keep your gate key on the same chain as the boat motor key, you will need to separate them, or your boat key goes up with the landing key.
The best way to ensure ease of operation and maintain a constant firm grip is to open and close it using the handle on the counter weight. There is also an assist handle on the boom near the locking pin. Both are taped green for GO. Unlock the gate, slightly raise the lock from its cradle and walk to the other end where the counterweight is located. Grabbing the handle, it will require a minimal amount of downward force to gently raise the boom to vertical. Do this slowly maintaining a constant firm grip and ensuring a soft landing. The locking pin will engage and hold the boom up until manually released. To lower, pull back the locking pin while slowly advancing the boom forward past the pin. Again, using the handle on the counterweight, it is very easy to control a slow, gentle descent with a soft landing in the locking cradle. Then move to the lock, push down and seat boom in cradle and remove key. The gate is sturdy but the weak link is the bollard that holds it. Hard landings will weaken its foundation over time.
Our camera system is operational and we will capture any improper or damaging use. We will be billing the offender for damages. If you see a resident that appears unsure about the gates function, please politely instruct them on these procedures. Pass this on to our fellow residents and boaters.Parents, please share this with your younger boaters before they head out on their next boating trip.
No gathering on the dock. Dock is to be used for launching and retrieving only.
Maintain social distancing at all times
Lock the boat ramp chain immediately after exiting the ramp with vehicle and trailer. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Only residents may use the ramp.
Failure to follow these rules may result in the boat ramp being closed.
The board of directors directs the boat ramp committee to:
Increase camera observations and physical presence at the landing while quarantines are still in place.
Monitor for social distancing violations and instruct residents to disperse if observed. No loitering, gathering, picnicking, or sunbathing.
